Our Story
Possum’s Tree Service was founded in 2001 by Randal “Possum” Olivier, a lifelong tree care professional who first picked up a pruning saw in 1998. From the very beginning, Randal built the company on a simple idea: do honest work, charge a fair price, and never leave a job until the customer is happy.
In those early days, the operation was about as bare-bones as it gets. An old truck, a beat-up flatbed trailer, and a well-oiled chainsaw. But what Randal lacked in equipment, he made up for in skill, work ethic, and a genuine passion for the craft. Word spread quickly. Neighbors told neighbors. One job led to the next. And much like the trees he cared for, the company put down deep roots in the community.
Today, Possum’s Tree Service is a fully licensed and insured operation with three certified arborists on staff. The crew handles everything from routine pruning to complex crane-assisted removals and 24/7 emergency storm response. But despite the growth, the company has never lost sight of what made it successful in the first place: treating every customer’s property like their own.

My name is Randal “Possum” Olivier, and I’ve been doing tree work for over 25 years now. I fell in love with this profession the moment I pruned my first live oak. There’s something deeply satisfying about caring for our urban trees and being able to drive past properties with my family and say, “We worked on that one.”
When I started this company back in 2001, I didn’t have much. But I had a vision for what a tree service should be: skilled, honest, and accountable. I’ve been blessed with an incredible team of professionals who share that vision and have helped build Possum’s Tree Service into what it is today.
One thing I’ve always believed is this: if I can’t be sure I’ll make a customer happy by the time I leave their property, there’s no point in me even stepping foot in their yard. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every single job.
